Dear Sky,

I am not prepared yet. I know you're in Grade 10 already and I thought that you would be having two more years of low-cost education. It was only yesterday that I really understood that by next year, you will be in senior high school and that senior high school even in your current school is expensive!

I thought that we would still be paying around the same tuition of around 500php per school year. I was not expecting for a senior high school student to shell out 20,000php for one school year! I guess I was just being too complacent. But, in a way, I am happy that I learned about this now so that I would have time to prepare. 

I will be putting my plans on hold for the meantime. Your education is what is important for me. You deserve to have the best and you deserve to get the right kind of education that you want. If you do need help trying to find your way towards the path that you would be taking, I'm just here. I cannot show you the right direction but I can help you figure it out. 

I personally did not know what path I would be taking when I went to college. All I wanted was to be an engineer and I was okay with math and things related to engineering. But when I passed UP, I wasn't able to make it to the engineering course that I wanted. That is why I had to go with another course which I passed. It was not something that I wanted but I stuck with it. Well, not because I liked what I was doing but because I was too lazy to actually go and shift courses. Plus, I heard about how hard the math and the chemistry subjects were. 

Right now, I am still unsure about my path. I honestly want to earn more so I could buy us a house and so I would be prepared for emergencies and I would also have the extra money to help other people if they need to. I do have some savings but I don't think that would be enough for such. Plus, it's savings for me and for you in the future. It's always best to save for a rainy day. I'm just not good enough with handling money that I only learned to save just a few years ago. 

Anyhow, right now, let's just take one day at a time. I will do my best to work hard and save more. I will try not to spend too much on different things that we do not really need. That way, I would have more money that we can use for your education and for your future. I will work this out and I will do this for you.

Dear Sky, If there's someone who's trying to bring you down, be proud. Because it means that you're above them. They think you're better than them. You cannot put a good person down. Only the foolish will believe them. And you don't need foolish people in your life.  I've had my fair share of people calling me different things and telling other people lies. Dear Sky, For the past few days, I've been really hot-headed and my temper would just flare up at the slightest inconveniences that I get. But it's definitely not about you or anything else. This only happens when I do not get the services or products that I'm supposed to be getting.  Some people may say that I am feeling entitled because of what I'm doing. But I say that it's not about feeling entitled. It's about asking these businesses/companies to give me what I should be getting. It's not absurd to ask for faster service when the service is too slow. It's not about not being able to understand other people when you've done your part and it's time for them to do theirs.  A good example would be the two instances where I felt my temper really go up this week.  The first case was with Globe Telecom. Dear Sky, One of the things that I think you should understand about people is that there are people who would be more than willing to learn and hear about what happened to you each day, and then there are people who would not in any way be interested in what happened to you. And sometimes, the person that you want to tell your stories to are the ones who are not interested.  Do not take offense in this. People are different and your energy may not be the same as theirs. Let that go. You cannot do anything about it.  Honestly, I still have a hard time reconciling this in my own life but I am dang trying my best to make it happen. Dear Sky,  I had plans to ask your Ninong to drive us around and take us to the beach. But with the new restrictions and the rise of COVID-19 cases in our city, I don't think that's the best thing to do. I also have plans to go out and go biking with you. But I don't think that's a good idea right now.  I do pity you though because you are here, stuck at home. It's a good thing though that you have your PC and good internet to see you through. If this happened during the time I was your age, I don't know what I would be doing. Probably just re-reading all the books that I have that time. There was no internet yet and nothing else to do.  But I do hope and pray that things would get better soon. That way, we can go out. Dear Sky, Today, we had our swab test. It was funny when you were scared that you made me do it first before you did. That actually helped me forget about my fear and anxiety.  They say that the results can be released any time today until Tuesday. They will call or text us if we test positive. I'm hoping none of us test positive. I'm also praying hard that Mommy tests negative soon and nothing untoward happens.  During times like this, it is good to have someone to talk to. Someone you can trust. Someone who understands you. And someone who does check up on you every now and then. I'm lucky to have a number of people like that in my life though I am definitely disappointed that the one that I thought would be concerned about me does not seem to care at all. Or maybe that's just his way of handling things as he has his own worries to take care of. But that's that. Dear Sky,  I am worried.  You told me earlier today that you were having some body aches which you described to be like the kind that comes with the flu. I tried to check your temperature but you did not have a fever.  Later today, you told me that you have a headache.  These went away when you took some Bioflu which I gave you.  Then tonight, you said that you had diarrhea. But you said that you only went to the bathroom once. I'm presuming that you just had some loose stool, but not necessarily diarrhea.  I just hope that you're fine.
