Letters To Sky

Dear Sky, One of the things that I think you should understand about people is that there are people who would be more than willing to learn and hear about what happened to you each day, and then there are people who would not in any way be interested in what happened to you. And sometimes, the person that you want to tell your stories to are the ones who are not interested.  Do not take offense in this. People are different and your energy may not be the same as theirs. Let that go. You cannot do anything about it.  Honestly, I still have a hard time reconciling this in my own life but I am dang trying my best to make it happen. I don't want to be disappointed anymore and I don't want to get hurt anymore because I expected too much from certain people. Right now, all I'm trying to do is just make it through each day and do as much as I can. There's no constant person to really share my stories with so I share them with different people each day - to those who may liste...

Dear Sky, Today, we received great news. We all tested negative for COVID-19! Thank God! It is great to hear such news but it is also important that we should not be complacent. We may have dodged it today but if we are not too careful, we may not the next time around - though I do hope that this does not happen.  Right now, I am praying that Mommy gets better soon. Though she may not have symptoms anymore, I am hoping that this continues. And I am praying that the day that we are ready to come back out to the world comes soon enough. Just eight more days.  This should be a good way for us to realize that being healthy is something that we should prioritize. I do hope that when we are cleared to go back out, we get more physical activities done. Biking can be a good thing to do. Please do wake up early. Dear Sky, Today, we had our swab test. It was funny when you were scared that you made me do it first before you did. That actually helped me forget about my fear and anxiety.  They say that the results can be released any time today until Tuesday. They will call or text us if we test positive. I'm hoping none of us test positive. I'm also praying hard that Mommy tests negative soon and nothing untoward happens.  During times like this, it is good to have someone to talk to. Someone you can trust. Someone who understands you. And someone who does check up on you every now and then. I'm lucky to have a number of people like that in my life though I am definitely disappointed that the one that I thought would be concerned about me does not seem to care at all. Or maybe that's just his way of handling things as he has his own worries to take care of. But that's that. Dear Sky, Yesterday, Mommy tested positive for COVID-19. It was something that I did not want to happen but it was definitely something that I was not quite surprised about.  Now that we're in this situation, we have nothing else to do but to deal with it. I am getting anxious and worried over this and I'm trying my best to look cool and composed. I am just glad that, so far, Mommy has only had mild symptoms. She does not even seem to have any right now. I'm hoping and praying that she gets better as soon as possible.  I am quite proud of you. You have to deal with all these at your age. When I was your age, all I could think about were my pocketbooks, school, and friends. Now, you have to deal with online classes, this pandemic, and, now, having to "move" to the living room since Mommy will be using your room for the meantime.  By Saturday, we will be having our swab tests and I do hope that none of us test positive.
